What’s the proper way to draw a zero?

I fear being a lefty makes this even more complicated for me

Make a notch at the top, notch at the bottom, then connect both sides separately

don't forget about the dot in the center to distinguish it from an "O"

Does it have an impact since cursive writing is no longer taught in elementary school, so for decades children have only printing?
